James B. Benjamin, M.D.
Adult Reconstructive Surgery and Total Joint Replacement

Dr. Benjamin is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement and adult reconstructive surgery. He has lived in Tucson since 1968, attending the University of Arizona for both undergraduate and medical school. After completing his orthopedic surgical training, Dr. Benjamin completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery in Exeter, England with Professor Robin Ling, one of the pioneers of total hip replacement.

Dr. Benjamin has been involved in education throughout his career.

He has made numerous presentations at national and international meetings and is the author of over 50 scientific articles related to the field of orthopedics. In addition to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, he is a member of the Knee Society, and the American Association for Hip and Knee Surgeons. Dr. Benjamin has served as president of the Tucson Orthopedic Association and the Western Trauma Association and been on the board of directors of the Arizona Orthopedic Association.

Dr. Benjamin performs total hip and knee replacement and partial knee replacement using computer assisted robotic techniques. He uses minimally invasive techniques for all of his surgery and modern pain management techniques during the perioperative period.
